that good Borde keep the tool updated and now we can edit some stuff

The hair should be a bit longer in the back, and it should be receeded more (Zack seems to have a receding haior line), but other than that, pretty cool =)

I dont remember if this is right, but wasn't zack in the game? you should just use the model from the game.

Zack was in-game but only as a low-res model, but since his model is similar to Cloud's, Cloud's body can be used for a hi-res Zack.

Proof of concept.
After some trial&error, I've made a preliminary version of Jesse using the "medium-res" parts found in char.lgp and some of the high-res Cloud's parts.

Definitely, this doesn't looks right yet. I'll need parts from Barret (Pants) and Tifa (Tibias) to complete the model. Let's wait until Reunion's next release :-P.
PD.: The shots are from BitRun. Thx for you great program Mirex!

That's great, Borde. I never actually realised the head portion used in the railmap scene had that much detail on it. I can't remember exactly what Jessie's field model looks like but it looks to me like it will be fine once her top is sorted.

Man, this whole Battle/Field Model Conversion is awesome!
I don't know what would be better, a remake of FFVII or a version where all the main character field models are converted to battle models.  I would say a remake, because everything would be higher quality, but I find it amusing to see hi-res-Cloud traversing the lo-res-world and think it would be fun to play the game that way.

<mr_Smithers>Exxxcccellent...</mr_Smithers>

Keep up the good work, Borde.  That Zack model looks good, but I agree with EmperorSteele -- the hair does need more adjustment (i.e., less Rogain on the front, and IIRC his hair should go down to at least the middle of his back, if not more.) 8)

Jesse's model looks....interesting, considering that you could call it an early "kitbash" of model parts.  And I guess you could call your Zack model a "kitbash" as well.  Which brings up something else -- are we able to replace (and redo the necessary color shading) the hands of other battle models with Cloud's hi-res ones so that the rest of the characters have defined fingers?     :wicked:

That might be more work than its worth.  Yeah, theoretically you could rip his model from Ergheiz (I thought Cloud replaced Zack in the finished retail version of it, though....?), but would it be any more detailed than Borde's already-game-compatible model?

I stumbled on this forum after finding my old ff7 cds in my parent's basement and doing a google search for the chocobo patch. This hi rez thread is absolutely amazing. Between the hi-rez hack, the psf sound hack, and the hand hack, I just lost a whole day hacking up my favorite game of all time. Keep up the great work everyone and release some models to go with those screen shots as soon as they are ready!

Both Cloud and Zack were in Ehrgeiz, but wouldn't you need to figure out the files on that game too?

Ack!  Borde, I just remembered that you need to include the Buster Sword on your Zack model, since the "stock" model always has the sword visible.

Fortunately for you, it appears that Reunion included a hi-res cloud-with-sword Field model in his last release, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem to overcome....

Just to note Zack has three models two with swords and one without...

ejdc.hrc - zacks_sk (Zack with sword on his back)
ibgd.hrc - szack_sk (Zack with sword in his hand)
ibad.hrc - lzacks_sk (Zack with no sword)

Ugghh... well, I tried making Zack's hair longer and this is the result:
Zack2.jpg

Not that I'm very proud of the result, but I don't think I can make it better without making the model SD.
I also changed the up-part of right arm and the down-part of the left one in order to test one new featue I'm trying to implement in my program (in order to re-use non-simetric limbs). Too bad I have no idea how to deal with the normals, because it looks like FF7 won't render the models correctly unless they have consistent normals :-(.
Oh about changing the battle model's hands Goku7, I think it's a good idea. The current version of my program it's not enough to do it yet, though. You would need to change the brightness level. I've implemented this already, but I didn't include it on the last release because it wasn't working right. I'll put it next time.

This basicly rocks :D, like the greatest thing since....SINCE FF7 :D lol
keep up the good work :D its gunna be great!

oh and if anyone knows where i can download the patchs/hacks for FF7, such as the hand/PSF music/high res hacks would much apprciate it :) thx u.

To enable hands on everyone, use get LGP Tools and Ficedula.dll from http://www.ficedula.co.uk/
Then get the hand hack, http://fire.prohosting.com/ff7gold/handPatchV016.rar
Make sure to read the directions on how to use LGP Tools to apply the hand hack.

(edit) Also, you probably want to apply the hand patch BEFORE installing any new models from this thread. I assume that installing the hand patch after would cause problems or at least write sucky hands over the nice new ones on these models.

To get sexy music quality, go to http://aaronserv.dyndns.org/hosting/ffsf/download_7.html
Again make sure you read the instructions, these ones are fairly lengthy.

wooo thanks :P least this will do till u dudes for the mod up and running :D lol
