Both of this. First, Aali's driver has an option for loading textures for FF7, and secondly, I don't know if it does for FF8. Aali, please come to my rescue!

Textures are not the same as models.
 
Hi kaspar01!
I was wondering that could u send me ur quez model so i could skin it, and make a nice papercraft model of it? im now doing a shiva 3d model as no 1 could get the summon vids out of the game this far :( but im hopping the best always.

ohh yea and i found some other skins as well, here are them:

Ive found skins of: shiva, siren, doomtrain, pandemona, (diablos sigils :D ), minimog, chocobo(fat and simple maybe i dunno yet), gilgamesh(ooooh theres a lot of skins for him :D ) Im thinking of redoing them in 3ds max if u know a better prog for it tell me its a bit too complicated for me :( if i manage to do so i will share my creations with u guys ofcourse.  8-)

Jesus Christ...  Did you really need to make 10 separate posts back to back that only have texture rips in them?
 
umm sorry i coulndt upload it in one but the forum freeze... but if u so hate my progress take em down just wanted to make modellers life simpler...  :(
i didnt know where to post simply ive looked fore related posts but no luck O.o and ive ripped em from the battle files and exported them with noesis.
:s haaah :( do tell me where to put my stuff then. But Im gettin less enthusiastic here............
U know i though that u would be happy that i found finally some textures for gf-s.
i dont wanna be unpolite here but ive done a lot of effort in this to find them ive unarchived the frickin battle.fs with about 3-4 kind of programs in various ways and not just once because as i see it, when done it can fail to unarch. the files badly so thats how ive come to my findings. i will continue my prowess, altough im in need a better unarchiver for ff8. if u have some tips than pls do give em im open to anything to achive a siren remodel :)

So what exactly are you trying to do with these textures? Redo them? As it is right now we have no way of inserting these textures back into the game reliably. Trust me I have looked. I do know aali was working on something but I cannot see anyone redoing these until he has it functioning (which is much harder then you may think)
 
@zenamistress I think your work is a step in right direction but for now have to wait until there is a way of editing them back in.

Of course I am sure someone will find them useful.
 
Im gona rebuild those gf models that we dont have only the texture(for some that is :S) thats what i need help for. maybe in the future some 1 will remake the whole game in high quality then my models could come handy i know that it cant be inserted back ive browsing these forums for a while its quite sad tooo should i maybe open a new topic for his? or is this one alright?
Ohh yeah if some1 happen to find the following missing textures that i need pls inform me:
- Carbunlce
- Alexander
- Eden
- Phoenix
- Moomba

So as you guys can see that really not much but i didnt find a trace of em yet.
Whats on my to do list is:
- shiva
- Siren
- pandenoma
- Doomtrain
- Gilgamesh
- Boko
- Fat Chocobo
- Minimog

And as ive said before im a papercraft artist and i really need some help in how to start to make these... im sure you know of some nice and easy methoods to remodell stuff. Ive got my self a 3Ds max 9 and a corel 11 for the job. And im doing some tutors on how to make models, but i dont have any ideas on these on the to do list.
 
So found some more textures so if any1 wants to join me in the GF recreation project or Project Shiva as i call it they are more than welcome to PM me   :-D

  • Alexander
  • Carbuncle
  • Eden

Altough Im giving up on eden its to detailed...

Carbuncle's textures are in mag277.tim (in magic.fs). There are actually two TIM files in that single file, the second of which is Carbuncle's texture set.

The others are tougher, because they don't use TIM files. I have a rough idea of which range of files they must be in, but no quick way of viewing them and assigning their palettes.

  • A few of Eden's textures are in mag205_b.01 (in magic.fs), the rest appear to be in mag205_b.03 (in battle.fs)
  • Alexander's textures seem to be in mag203_b.05 and mag203_b.06 (both in battle.fs).
It'd probably be easier to look online for the textures (if that's allowed) or do some vram ripping (PSX version only?).
