Hello everyone.
I see there is currectly a lot of people interested in using chibi models around. Way more than back when the PRP started. That's why it was decided to not use them (although I disliked the idea).
You might be interested on a small program I wrote by that time. It's and HRC resizer. It can also resize in and SD-like way. It leaves head, hand and feet at their original size and resizes the rest.

Wow... Borde...
That tool took out a lot of the guess work for me.. and it re sized the bones.
Brilliant!
Thanks So Much!
:D

That HRC tool worked wonders..
Thanks Borde
:D

My problem now.. is.. he kind of looks like a midget/kid....

Cause I tried my best to size it to the original model...

I think the proportions need to be a little more exaggerated. Also, he looks angry  :x His face needs to be remodelled a little bit, so that he looks cute  :-D

I think his head needs to be a bit more in proportion with the rest of the body, but other than that I agree with Kudistos Megistos.

Instead of just resizing the models in parts, i think what you have to do for the next step is to actually take the models into 3DSmax or blender or something and actually move verticies to fix up the proportions.the sizes are all right, but the models need to be edited.

Cloud looks... Odd.. as a chibi haha well that cloud (no offense) yeah i'd do what Neo said and try and edit it.

Maybe it's the shading thats throwing me off haha.

Also Neo: Congrats on winning the logo contest at PCSX2

F*CK I DID!?

HOLY SH*T ARE YOU SERIOUS!?

EDIT: sorry for pointless post

lol, my icon thingy! sweet :D

 :|

And The face needs to more chibish i agree... i just don't know how to alter textures, and do the 3D editing...
at the moment my tools are limited to kimera...

Just as a reference, the expected output for the HRC resizer with the SD resize mode activated is something like this:

i didn't get that.. i had to do adjustments on my own.
O.o
how did you do that?
xD

i just realized there was an SD option....
xD

here is my new results
xD

The feet are too big  But otherwise that looks great borde.
Actually, the feet are the right size, if anything is. Basically what borde did is use kimera to resize every body part perfectly to chibi size with his SD thingy - but that doesn't mean the models are designed for chibi proportion. if borde now used biturn to convert he entire cloud HRC to .3ds, and re-structured cloud to be a more "smooth" chibi, it would then look perfect.

Take a look what i mean. some details just need to be a lot more pronounced.

note, that's a VERY crude photoshopping, but you guys get the idea, right?

i almost didn't realize that was a photo shopping.
xD

yeah that's what i want it to look like... but i can't get it into MAX.
:(

Nop, I used the HRC Resizer. The nice part about it is it's a fully authomated and thus is basically effortless. Of course that means it can do only what you see. If you want to do any more fine tunning, It's all manual.
Actually I prefer the look of the previously posted pics NeoCloudstrife. Of course, that's simply a matter of tastes.
As Makudex said, you must tick the SD-Resize option. Somthing like his usually works fine:
HRC_Resizer.jpg

PD: Hmm... I see those are the models modified by stormmedia. They were based on Reunion's versions of the battle models, adapted so that they looked more correct in-game while keeping their normal proportions look. The picture I posted was from original Reunion's models, that's the reaso on the difference.

When I think (Chibi Final Fantasy). I think about Final Fantasy IX, and they didn't use big clown feet.
You're right, however, in FF7, i'm not sure small feet work well with the animations. you guys should try, though

And borde, yeah, that program's what i meant :P its epic :D
