First off, your English is good, so you should practice and it will only get better.

I bet someone smart (I'd have to learn how to do it) could just remote access your computer and set it up for you. That is service totally worth paying for but I strongly suggest you learn the mod programs because it is very likely you will either have to reinstall FF7 or you will want to change the mods you have installed in the future.

The best way to start learning is to post your system specs (type of processor, type of graphics card, type of windows or operating system) and ask for personalized assistance.

I do not personally think it would be ethical to charge for this assistance, but if there is a bilingual English/Chinese ff7 pc mod expert around then maybe their services might be worth paying for.

I wish you would use this thread to learn to install and use the mods yourself by asking questions here when you run into problems. That is really what this board is for, it's not really supposed to be about money at all. I think if you got a lot of help from someone, and you wanted to donate money to them afterward, that would be OK.

I am available for questions in this specific case via PM in English. I do not usually return PMs for this type of assistance. So, if you can try to read my English I will try to be careful with words I use.
Thank you for trusting me and the great advice, I will try, I tried the bootleg 039 for 2012 ff7 and failed, maybe this time I will try the bootleg 040, hoping 040 would work.

I use laptop, here followed the specification, if there any problem?

CPU:   Mobile DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo T6600, 2200 MHz (11 x 200)
Motherboard:   Lenovo KL1
Graphic card:   NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M  (512 MB)
Memory:   5084 MB  (DDR3 SDRAM)
OS:    Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Great! I am sure your computer can play bootleg 40 in English. First step is either download the rerelease 2012 version from Square Enix website. Its cheap. you should do it that way. or you can do ebay for a 1998 copy, which is what I did 10 years ago. or find whatever passes for a "real" english pc ff7 copy in China. whatever it is it needs to be an exact version of those 2 releases. we are only able to support those.

After you do that we can continue. if you have this already I dont see why we cannot continue working immediately.  I can send you a cd or dvd rom with the mods on it if the downloading is the problem.

I really appreciate your kind reply!  thank you very much

I am trying to download the BOOTLEG 040, it will take days , as the network situation in China, hoping this time everything will be fine .

Thank you, if I failed with bootleg 040, I will tell you , hoping that you can send me your cd with mods, pls tell me what can I do for you to reply you, I WILL try me best .

Thank you , thank you again

That is just terrible the internet is so filtered there... I will put together a CD for you if you cannot get Tifa's Bootleg downloaded. As long as you are able eventually to get it downloaded, we can get it to work if you don't get mad and start yelling lol

I think I know the issue that you are having with your graphics card. I had an issue that seriously isn't documented anywhere, but it works.

After installing and modding the installation, try and launch "FF7Config.exe" from your FF7 installation folder.

If it doesn't open, then you most likely have the same issue that I had.

1. If you have an NVidia card go to the directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\coprocmanager" (It may be different directory on your system).
2. Rename the file "Nvd3d9wrap.dll" to something else.
3. Afterwards re-run the FF7Config.exe. If it works, set your display device, sound device, etc.
4. After closing FF7Config, rename "Nvd3d9wrap.dll" back to the original filename.

Then it should work. I hope this helps.

That finally fixed my FF7Config that had been broke for years. How in the actual fuck did you find that out?

I'm glad that helped.

Any application that crashes leaves an error log entry in the windows logs. (Right Click Computer -> Manage -> System Tools -> Event Viewer -> Windows Logs -> Application)
It will say which DLL failed.

After countless hours of searching that DLL, I came across a forum discussing how to fix L.A. Noire and how Nvidia has yet to fix this issue.
People were either renaming the file temporarily, or downloading an older version.

Since FF7Config.exe only needs to run one time, I figured renaming it was the best solution :).

There should be a 'fixes' page containing all fixes and stuff when people come across certain problems and use those fixes instead of all over the forum...iunno xD

I just tried safe setting in OpenGL configuration, this time, it is even worse,

the computer says: OpenGL renderer appears to be the Microsoft software renderer. Your graphics driver are probably not installed correctly. Expect extreme lag.

PS: could you pls also advise me how to add attachment. thank you

It looks like you don't have the proper drivers installed for your card.

Use HDR or Default setting or manually set your shader in the Plugins tab. Don't use any of the Complex shaders.

Open FF7Config.exe and go to the Sound tab. If the sound device is blank, then set one.
