help please i keep getting external textures.
i followed the steps and installed the registry keys.
Run "ff7config" choose software renderer

rerun the regfile

if you use "ff7music", run "ff7music", but dont start the game,

open your "ff7 directory", and right click on the "ff7.exe"

choose to "run as" and select or type "Administrator"

If not using "ff7music" just follow the above step...

This should allow the software to use custom settings that sometimes windows blocks
it worked thanks

if you look at the words, you'll notice some of the letters look chopped up a bit

in Beta 9, it seems the .tex wasn't changed to migrate the textures for the chocobo tracks

and it seems similar issue here, the snow wasn't upgraded though the texture is there

other then thoughs, great upgrades on beta 9 guys

On a clean world_us.lgp none of the png's are loaded. So only the mods already applied to your world_us.lgp are displayed. At least that is what I encountered.

thats what i think is going on with mine :P, though that doesn't completely explain my chopped up text font...

for some reason something odd is going on with the installer and WMRP.
I had to install the WMRP portion of the installer separetly to make it work. Initally only the menus and avatars were installed. I notified sl1982 of thissowe will have to see what he thinks.
The PNGs were installed, but it seemed like my world.lgp had not been updated with the pointer tex files.

For now, just deselect everything else and installer the WMRP exclusively when your using the installer. That ensures that it will work, and instll the rest of the 2DO stuff separtely as well.

I looked at the details of the installer and know the problem. The WMRP and Diamond world map model are installed separate. So after the WMRP is successfully installed it is overwritten when the Diamond is installed. So either put the Diamond into the WMRP group of files for the next installer, or at least switch their places in install order.

nice work grimmy! I scanned throug the log but i was having trouble deciphering what exactly it wasdoing, sine the messages are kinda vague.  That explains why it worked successfully when i installed the WMRP without anything else.

Should be an easy fix, and jaitsu what version of the font are you using? Low or high res?

Yes it will help. What res do you run in?
well, when i open ff7 config, i get for options on resolution in the graphics tab

320 x 240 16bpp

640 x 480 16bpp

aand

640 x 480 16bpp

im using the last one, i know these are way lower then what others can use, these are the only options i get though, unless you guys know another way

as i said, im reallllllyyyyy lame in the head when it comes to res

If you are using Aali's driver you should not run ff7 config. That will undo the custom driver, right? But you cannot use this without the driver. I'm confused now.

i know, i re activate it once i finished in ff7 config :P

Open the driver config file in notepad and set it to your screen's max resolution. Make sure to save the file and restart the game.
