Hello everybody! I´d really like to use this mod but it won´t install correctly. Here´s what I have done:

1.   Installed FF 7 (full installation).
2.   Kopied the official 1.02 german patch (I am using the german version).
3.   Installed the opengl 0.77b driver and ran the config.exe. Everything worked fine. Changed the ff7_opengl.cfg to a resolution of 1680 * 1050. (my monitor screen).
4.   Kopied an input file and all my save games into the main folder, so that I can run the game.
5.   The game works. (videos, graphic, chocobo racing etc.)
6.   Now I want to install the Avalanche mod. I double click the high res.exe file and the installation finds my FF7 install folder. I can choose what to install and proceed. He is copying now all the files to the folder.
7.   But if I start the game absolutely nothing changed. I tried installing only the WMRP but no changes. I installed only the alternate avatars by Nero but no avatar changing. I looked into my FF7 folder: in the textures/avatar folder there are the new avatar pictures but they are not displayed in the game.
8.   I also tried the low res version but it has the same effect:it doesn´t matter what I choose to install nothing changes.

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit and use no other mods. But I have to say that I also had some problems with other mods:  I can only install the Phoenix rejuvenilation project by using the method shown on finalfantasy7pc.com. And if I want to use the Advent children avatar mod the installation also fails. I have to rename the menu.lgp in menu_gm.lgp and copy it manually into the data/menu folder so that it fits to my german version.

Here´s my app.log after I installed everything from the high res mod except for the diamond weapon field model and the two new battle models:

I really hope you can help me because i am completely clueless.
I'm not sure about this but I don't know if there's any difference with the german version and the english version and I think when you said that you have to rename menu.lgp in menu_gm.lgp. So I think the patch was made for the official patch 1.02 of the english version. Just a hypothesis though.

I am assuming all the names of the textures are different in the german one. You would have to go in and change all the names to the proper ones.

Does this mean that every file has different names depending on the language version? Because I don´t even get the new GUI or the new avatars.

And is it possible to install this mod manually?  Than I could see what files are new.

And how can I uninstall this mod?

I will try this mod with the american version next week. A good friend of mine has bought this version because he doesn´t like the gerrman translation. (the german translation really sucks btw...)

Installing it manually?? Hmm I think if you do that you'll have many things to copy and paste. But I myself never saw a release with the manual files only the patcher. Try asking sl1982 if he's not busy to make a patch for the german version. But if he do not know the german version himself that would be one hell of a job.

If you want all the files from the installer, just install into a blank directory. As for manually putting them in game i wish you the best of luck. I do not have the german version so i do not know the file names, nor do i wish to remap all the file names if i did.

hi i cant seem to get the low res working or the high res and where do i find the app log,  im using NVIDEA Geforce4 MX 440

You need to have Aali's driver so that the installer will run. And also the app log is in the main directory of where you have installed ff7. Be sure you have installed it in the default location.

iv got ailis 7.7b instaled and runs fine, but the textures dont load up even on the world map nothing loads up  only a texture error, my screen reolution is 800 -600 and the app log is empty ?? im currently goin to try usin the low res installer but i dont thin it will make much of a differance. =P

not really a problem but quick question, would 1280 by 1024 be considered high res or low res (i finally got my desktop)

Try the low res first. If the fonts look a bit distorted try the high res.

aright, will do (when i get back to my new desktop) :D
My friend that isn't registered here but still uses the TA patch used the low res version and he has the same resolution as you. Low res should work fine. :)

aright, thanks dude

I am not sure if this has been mentioned by me or anyone else, but in shops, the Avatars are supposed to fade out and with the new avatars the fade out is just a white box....

Seif can you post me a screen. I dont really play the game so I am not sure what you mean.

Nah it is ok, on further reflection it is just because I am using Aerith when I shouldn't be.  I think the game got a bit coc.ked up.  There isn't an issue here afterall.  However do you know what is causing this >

It isn't the position of the inner box because I have arranged its position and it can't be fixed that way. The "next level" bar fills the whole box, this one doesn't....It is showing the background by around 1 pixel.

Perhaps the width is wrong...

I've installed the low-res version of WMRP but it seems I have to use the high-res one. Now when I'm going to unistall it, it says that the unistall is completed but when I run the game, it still is there...
