Hi I could do with some help, first off, the MO.exe file won't download the link seems to be dead, does anyone have it?

Also when I download Trish(aka Mike)'s custom model pack.7z it will always show as red, no matter what I do. I've checked it wrote the same as bootlegger even adding in the "_" and tried the other version writing in the apostrophe but it always shows as red.

EDIT FIXED, it turns out you do not need to add the ".7z" on the end.

Did you click the red button labeled "Run Bootleg"?

I thought I would post in some info that I discovered with different files, but of course this might be just a fault on my end, but I used both the FacePlamer zips (20 part and torrent). When using the 20 part zip a lot of the resized maps were not showing up, I reinstalled several times with now change. When I place the torrent zip into the folder and installed it seems to work perfectly. No idea if this is helpful just a heads up I guess. Oh and I've tried different settings when installing the mods, like bootleg, FacePlamer, and BlackFan+SL1982+FacePalmer(this is what is currently working best for me using the torrent zip)

I found and fixed an error with the FacePalmer 20 Part installation.
If you run Bootleg more than once during the same Windows session, Bootleg will think FacePalmer installed correctly even if there are missing files.

Yes but still not given anything. I uninstall and reinstall the game any idea what might be?

Don't install to a system folder such as DESKTOP or PROGRAM FILES.
Also, don't use any paths with spaces in the name.

Oh perfect, thank you! This makes perfect sense because I have to run the MO again because the re-translations don't seem to work first time round and when I reinstall it most of the world map textures and town maps seem to revert. I'll try reinstalling it when I reboot windows.

If you reinstall Menu Overhaul, just change the mod path back to 'bootleg' and you'll have the textures back.
Just a warning, the ReTranslation may be incompatible with mods like Lost Wing.

Again thank you PitBrat, you are great help!

I downloaded all of the mods thus far besides one. It looks like the mod MO.exe which (Completely new interface and retranslation) happens in. The download looks like it got 404'ed on google docs. If anyone has this please share.

On an unrelated note when I was opening my game before I downloaded any mobs I ran into an error message at the load in screen. The whole screen was white with black outlines of the game. I'm running 64-bit windows 7 with GeForce 560ti graphics card could it be too powerful for the game? If so what should I do or will it fix its when I run Bootleg on it.

Thank you!

Hey guys, great stuff here.

I'm having an issue- game won't start. I've followed all the steps, got my mods working, ran bootleg successfully. I have my cd in the drive but it's asking me for "disk 1, 2, or 3." I have my config directed to my dvd drive and no luck.

Any thoughts?

[EDIT]

I installed with the Ultima 2 disk edition. I have the 2.20GB version as well. I tried mounting the disks from the 2.20GB version and disk 2 worked! AWESOME!!!

NEW PROBLEM:

How do I play in windowed mode? Un-checking fullscreen from the FF7 BootLoader.exe doesn't seem to do anything. hmm

Find mo.exe here: https://www.ff7catalog.com/]

Also, when you run bootleg you will be running various patches that will make it work. FF7 on it's own does not work and requires some updates as it is. :)

The option is in the bottom-left under the Game tab. You can use English, French, German, or Spanish text.

Thanks, I found it :p

but now (ahem) some of the options I selected are gone: no music, no always run, not the avatars I selected, not the menu I expected....

I will try with an English version of the game. I tried with the French version I bought during last century :D

Again, thanks for that tremendous amount of work you and all the modders have acheived. I'm really amazed.

using the english version, things are in a better shape.

Everything but the music, avatars, save everywhere and always run issues remain.

And when starting from a zipped fresh install, it unzips it in the wrong folder.

See, I first install the games in x:\games\FFVII then zipped it using BFE.

When BFE starts the process again, it unzips it in x:\games\FFVII\FFVII....

edit: with the last install, just remains the avatars and music issues. I have music during the opening FMV, but once the train stops, no more music, just sounds

The avatar and music issues are fixed for the 0039 release.
To work around these problems, make sure CUSTOM is selected for avatars after you've chosen the desired ones and before running Bootleg.
Manually extract OSTRe.7z into .\FF7Music\OSTRe\ to restore the music.

When you create the FF7 image, make sure the files are in the root of the zip.  Don't include the FFVII folder.
When you open the zip, you should see everything inside the game folder and not FFVII.
