This may be interesting to see, since we can't all play every game and I'm sure I've missed some real gems.  Here's mine:

Breath of Fire III, IV
Columns
Chrono Trigger
Double Dragon II
Ecco the Dolphin
Final Fantasy IV to X (possibly XII)
Golden Axe
IQ (AKA Kurushi)
LOZ: Ocarina of Time
Megaman 3
Metal Gear Solid 1,2
Mortal Kombat (a few of them were reused, so MK1 - Trilogy)
Resident Evil II
Revenge of Shinobi
Road Rash II
Snake,Rattle 'n' Roll (Sorry, but it's nostalgia!)
Sonic 1,2 (MS), Sonic1 to 3D (MD/gen)
Soulblade
Spot Goes to Hollywood
Street Fighter II
Streets of Rage I, II
Suikoden
Super Hang-On
Super Mario 64
Super Mario 3
Super Maro Land
Super Mario World
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES)
Tekken 3

Teranigma and Secret of Mana spring into my mind. While Secret of Evermore has for me the best audio surounding. Not to mention Zelda...

Forget FFXII it's not that memorable.

FFXII was rather poor compared, I thought, but it did have some decent ones like Rabanastre.

Oh, and Duck Tales:

This guy is both mad and class!

The best moment and music of the game lost odyssey on xbox360
And the full soundtrack here

Ah, yes.  Missed that one by accident!  Blue Dragon is pretty decent too.

Lost Odyssey has arguably better music than any FF ("arguably" being the key word here).

FF12 has a good soundtrack imo, but compared to the best FFs it doesn't hold up. FF13 on the other hand was rather dull overall.

TMNT the arcade game ftw!

How dare you all!! I'm going to disown all of you for not putting Shadow of the Colossus at the top of such a list (unless, of course, the list is alphabetical in which case I'll just disown you for not including it).

Y'all forgot Doom!
E1M1:
Doom3 Main Theme:

Duke Nukem 3D/Forever.
GrabBag:
Megadeth Edition:

C&C Red Alert.
Hell March
Hell March from red Alert 3:

Metal Gear Solid.
MGS1 Main Theme:
Can't forget this one either, MGS3 Snake Eater:

Only gonna list stuff that hasn't been mentioned yet, and in alphabetical order. I adore all of these soundtracks:

  • Animal Crossing
  • Balloon Fight
  • Banjo Kazooie/Tooie
  • Bomberman Hero
  • Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
  • Comix Zone
  • Donkey Kong 64
  • Donkey Kong Country 1-3
  • Freedom Planet
  • GTA V
  • Halo 1-3 (but especially 3)
  • Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru
  • Kingdom Hearts
  • The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
  • The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
  • The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
  • Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
  • Luigi's Mansion
  • Mario Kart 64
  • Mario Kart 7
  • Mario Kart 8
  • Mario Paint
  • Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
  • Metroid
  • Monster Truck Madness
  • Pikmin
  • Plants vs Zombies
  • Pokémon Trading Card Game
  • Portal 1, 2
  • Splatoon
  • Super Mario Galaxy 1&2
  • Super Mario Land 1-3
  • Super Metroid
  • Tetris Attack
  • Yoshi's Island
  • Yoshi's Story (even though the game kinda sucked)
  • Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

edit: It's also, worth checking out this alternate soundtrack to Super Mario Bros. 3. It's a collection of new songs with the SMB3 instrument set, and inspired by existing songs, but completely reimagined into something new.

Now I have to disown myself. I forgot To the Moon. And I JUST finished playing that with my wife. :(

C&C Red Alert.
Hell March
Hell March from red Alert 3:
Not sure how I missed that one.  I did have a bit of a discussion once with the composer Frank Klepacki.  Nice guy.  We didn't say much, and I was mainly just praising him for Hell March.

There's a quite a few there already that I've never heard.  So I'll be looking those up!  :)

@covarr.  Nice list.  I like Mario Kart too.  Especially Rainbow track from 64.  I remember Mario Kart SNES was good?

this guy Tommy Tallarico is pretty good too.  he did Spot Goes to Hollywood, along with some pinball ones, and Earthworm Jim....

Which should have been on my list!

At this point we could start talking about games that have NOT a good sountrack haha! Omg those lists.

Faxanadu anyone?

Doom on ps1, this version had a completely different ambient soundtrack, i was never very fond of the faux-metal original.

Final Fantasy Tactics

Vagrant Story

Xenogears

As for crap osts no list is complete without Resident Evil Director's Cut Dual Shock

For me... Chrono Cross, Grandia II, and even The Last Story I thought had a pretty memorable soundtrack. But that's just me. Others I enjoyed you guys already listed like Chrono Trigger, Lost Odyssey, Breath of Fire, etc.

Captain Planet... a good soundtrack:

I finished this game all way through on real NES.  No easy feat, let me tell you.

The Last Remnant - One of the most unknown and underrated games of all time, and surprisingly it's made by Square Enix.

Ending Song - Journey's End -

P.S. You guys have played waaaaay more games than me. Thanks for the good listens :P
